The Next Wave Festival is the signature program of BAM, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, with an unparalleled line-up of emerging artists and innovative modern masters. Lots of adventurous and avant-garde performances takes place in the main building of BAM–The Harvey Theatre, a classic architecture with an amazingly long history of 116 years. When audience come to the Next Wave Festival, they not only enjoy the shows, but also experience historic vibe of the traditional building.
In this hypothetical program, I design a brochure for the festival. I integrate the historical photos in black and white and the pictures of performance in green and pink to specify the contrast of time. The little corner on the top right, revealing the historic moments, coordinates different time and space in one page and resembles the interweaving past and present in BAM.
The pictures and words used in the brochure were from bam.org and internet.
